‘Women Turning the Tide’

 What’s the meaning behind the name? To provide women with
the opportunity to access and receive support to come together in a fun, safe and
accepting environment to learn, support one another and create a community for
women to thrive.

 

Who is this suitable for?

- For women beginners aged between 16 Years and over.

- First time surfers or people wanting to improve.

- To become more confident in the ocean.

- Women who want to get out and meet other like minded women in a safe and accepting environment.


Price: 270.00 in total for the 4 weeks.

 

When: Starting on the 23rd of October every Sunday for 4
consecutive weeks. Sessions will go for 2 hrs from 8am – 10am.


Where: Based in Tartha although, location can change to either Merimbula or Pambula Beach dependent on surf conditions.

 

What am I getting? A structured, educational and
tailored program for each individual’s needs. Running over 4 consecutive weeks
with our fully accredited, passionate and experienced staff.

 Session 1/ Week 1: You will learn the fundamentals of
surfing and beach safety in the water.


  • Welcome to the group.

  • Introduction to the
    equipment.

  • Induction to the beach,
    surf safety.

  • How to get into and out
    of the water, talk myths and truths about surfing.

  • Being assisted on white
    water waves.

  • Be coached on the 4 step
    pop up standing to your feet process.

  • Be coached and supported
    during session.

  • Review and wrap up.

 

Session 2/ Week 2: Recap of week 1 and building on the 4
steps process.


  • Teaching participants on
    how to read the beach conditions

  • Continuing to work on
    the 4 step pop up standing to your feet process.

  • Learning how to read the
    waves.

  • Starting to work on
    paddling and catching your own white water waves.

  • Be coached and supported
    during session.

  • Review and wrap up.

 

Session 3/ Week 3: Recap of week 2 and engraining on the
4 steps process.


  • Reading the beach conditions

  • Continuing to work on the 4 step pop up standing to
    your feet process.

  • Continuing to read the waves.

  • Build on the paddling technique and catching the waves.

  • Be coached and supported during session.

  • Review and wrap up.

 

Session 4/ Week 4: Participants are catching waves (last
session to go for 2 1/2 hours)

  • Reading the beach conditions

  • Attempting step 4 of the pop up standing to your feet
    process.

  • Learning how to catch green waves.

  • Build on the paddling technique and catching the waves.

  • Be coached and supported during session.

  • Review and wrap up

  • Graduation and morning tea celebrations!

COVID-19: If you have any signs or symptoms please do not attend the session. Please notify us to reschedule your booking. 

Please arrive at your lesson 10 minutes early so you can sign up and fit your wetsuit.

What is supplied on the day: 

Surfing: individually fitted wetsuit, surf board with leg rope. 

Please bring the following for the day:

- Drink bottle

- Bring snacks 

- Full change of dry clothes 

- Towel  

- Bring your own wetsuit if you preferred
